The film came out on April 24, 2026, and the Yung Lean Storm remakes spread in September 2026, after motion-transfer tools such as Higgsfield's Genjutsu launched. Critics say many skip crediting the film. ## What does Yung Lean Storm AI Trend mean? A Yung Lean Storm remake is a flex: you, a friend or a famous face as the calm center of a perfectly synchronized crowd. The choreography and camera moves stay, and only the person in the middle changes. In the original Yung Lean Storm scene, the rapper stands motionless on the school steps, smoking, while dozens of uniformed boys move around him in waves. People use the Yung Lean Storm format in two main ways. Some put themselves in the lead role with a one-photo template; others drop in a celebrity, like the most-viewed version, a spec ad starring footballer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. ## Why did Yung Lean Storm AI Trend take off? The Yung Lean Storm scene is striking on its own: one still figure against a crowd moving as one body. The Yung Lean Storm film was already a hit, with about 23 million views on its official upload by September and four MTV VMA nominations, so the shot was familiar before anyone remade it. Then the tools arrived. Higgsfield launched Genjutsu on September 1, 2026, and its Motion Transfer mode keeps a clip's movement while rebuilding the cast, which made the Yung Lean Storm sequence easy to copy. Template apps followed within weeks. Most coverage of the AI wave so far comes from companies that sell AI video tools, so how big the Yung Lean Storm trend really is remains unclear. ## Where did Yung Lean Storm AI Trend come from? Yung Lean Storm began as a real film, not an AI one. On April 24, 2026, GENER8ION, the project of French producer Surkin, released STORM, a two-part single, Storm I and Storm II, with a seven-and-a-half-minute film directed by Romain Gavras and choreographed by Damien Jalet. The Yung Lean Storm video was shot in Belgium, at the Collège Cardinal Mercier, according to RTBF. Its climax is a school-photo scene on the steps where the boys break into Jalet's choreography around a motionless Yung Lean. Gavras later said the reaction to the film was that AI could never do this. The Yung Lean Storm AI remakes started after Higgsfield's Genjutsu launched in September.
