It spread in October 2026 through a CapCut template that had been used almost 52,000 times by October 20, copying an AI clip of a blond dancer in a pink trench coat. ## What does Wipe Me Down Dance AI Trend mean? The Wipe Me Down dance trend is about putting someone unexpected into a very confident routine. Guides describe the moves as a laugh into the camera, a big side lunge, a hop, a low bounce with both hands sweeping near the floor, a jump and a shimmy to finish, all in about 13 seconds. The fun is in the casting. A one-photo AI template can make a grandparent, a coworker or a cartoon character hit every beat, and the more unlikely the dancer, the better the clip. ## Why did Wipe Me Down Dance AI Trend take off? The Wipe Me Down dance had two things going for it before AI arrived. The song has long been a TikTok dance sound: one dance post set to the remix, by Carnell Nichols in May 2024, had 9 million plays and 1.8 million likes when we checked on October 20, 2026. And the routine is short, clear and funny on anyone. The AI version removed the last barrier, actually dancing. A CapCut template called "Wipe Me Down Dance," by the creator HBL4CK7, went up on October 4, 2026; it takes one photo and runs 14.2 seconds. By October 20 it showed 51,965 uses and 203,077 plays on CapCut. Buffer's list of trending TikTok songs for October 2026 included the template's sound, "original sound by EDCapCut," and AI video apps published Wipe Me Down dance guides that month. ## Where did Wipe Me Down Dance AI Trend come from? The song is "Wipe Me Down," first recorded by the Baton Rouge rapper Foxx. The single, released in January 2007 with Lil Boosie as lead artist and Webbie featured, appeared on the Trill Entertainment compilation Survival of the Fittest and was produced by Mouse on tha Track. It peaked at No. 38 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 4 on the Hot Rap Songs chart. Guides say the remix with Foxx, Webbie and Lil Boosie is the version under most trend videos. The Wipe Me Down dance was a meme long before AI. AI-tool guides point to masked "Louisiana Michael Myers" dance videos and to TikTok dancers such as Carnell Nichols, whose May 2, 2024 post shows three dancers in a store aisle under the caption "When you see people doing the wrong dance to this song." The October 2026 AI wave copies one AI-made clip, which guides describe as a blond dancer in a pink trench coat on a paved square.
