Hope Whoever Stole My Amazon Package
Nobody stole anything. The joke is how oddly specific the costume in the box would have been.
Rising. Best time to post.
Hope Whoever Stole My Amazon Package is a Halloween meme where people post a screenshot of their Amazon orders, a pile of random costume pieces, captioned "hope whoever stole my amazon package was also planning to be [costume] for halloween." It started with a post on X by @lyssibot5000 on October 11, 2026, about an Erling Haaland costume, and by October 16 it had become a template for ever more specific costumes, from a Cubs fan to Valorant's Ascent B site boxes.
What does Hope Whoever Stole My Amazon Package mean?
The "hope whoever stole my amazon package" meme pretends a package went missing so the poster can show off what was inside. The screenshot lists a few loose items: a wig, a jersey, a mask, some cardboard boxes. On their own they mean nothing. The caption names the costume they add up to, and the punchline is imagining a thief opening the box and finding exactly the parts they needed to dress as that one oddly specific person or thing.
No theft is involved. The caption is a frame for a costume reveal and a little puzzle: readers look at the items first and try to guess the costume before they reach the name. The more obscure or exact the costume, the better the joke lands.
Why did Hope Whoever Stole My Amazon Package take off?
The hope whoever stole my amazon package format spread because it is easy to copy and rewards specificity. Anyone with an order history and a Halloween plan can post one, and the costume does the comedy. The original post by @lyssibot5000 passed 176,000 likes in five days, according to Know Your Meme (October 16, 2026), and the same entry's screenshot of the post shows 1.5 million views.
It also arrived in the weeks before Halloween, when people are already shopping for costumes and showing them off. Finn Partners' Bookmark This newsletter (October 16, 2026) noted that some sports teams had tapped into the trend, linking a post from the Pittsburgh Penguins' X account, and called it a format almost any brand could use.
