Jiren Dance ("I'm So In Love With You" Dragon Ball Meme)
The Jiren dance is a TikTok meme in which Jiren and other Dragon Ball fighters sway their hips to "it's like i'm not even here" by Mthu, whose chorus begins "I'm so in love with you, you're so in love with him." The dancing clips come from TikToker @dblgiuzman, who started posting them on September 1, 2026; on September 17, @skobodo_tolot paired one with the song. From October 19 people began doing the dance themselves, Know Your Meme added an entry on October 26, and US searches for "jiren dance" rose from nothing in mid-October to their highest on October 26.

What does Jiren Dance ("I'm So In Love With You" Dragon Ball Meme) mean?
The joke of the Jiren dance is the contrast. Jiren is the stern, nearly silent warrior from Universe 11 who fights Goku in the Tournament of Power arc of Dragon Ball Super, a character known for crossed arms and few words. In the meme he is swaying his hips and rolling his shoulders to a soft, heartbroken song: "I'm so in love with you, you're so in love with him, I don't know what to do, girl, I'm a fool now."
The song is "it's like i'm not even here" by the artist Mthu. On TikTok the clips usually run over a cut of it uploaded as an "original sound" by a user named Jake, which is why many posts show lyrics on screen line by line.
The meme now has two halves. One is the animation itself: Jiren, Goku, Gohan and other Dragon Ball characters doing the dance. The other is people copying it. They film themselves doing the same sway, or make Jiren appear somewhere he shouldn't, with captions that play on a fighter losing control of his body: "Don't dance… I can't control it… NANI?!" Know Your Meme describes the trend as both exploitable and participatory.
Why did Jiren Dance ("I'm So In Love With You" Dragon Ball Meme) take off?
The Jiren dance spread because it works on two audiences at once. Dragon Ball fans get a character they know as an unsmiling powerhouse doing something completely out of character, and everyone else gets a catchy, slightly ridiculous dance to a love song. The lyrics are easy to put on screen, and the song's first line doubles as the meme's name.
It also turned into something people could do, not just watch. On October 20, @adamlostagain posted himself dancing like Jiren with the caption "I'm so in love with u," and the clip passed 1.6 million plays within days. On October 24, @notmemetime made Jiren dance on the screen of a calculator, captioned "This equation... Don't solve... Don't solve... I can't control it... NANI?!", which reached 2.2 million plays in two days. Each new setting invites the next one.
By the weekend it had crossed into explainers. Lessons in Meme Culture posted "Jiren Can't Stop Dancing" on YouTube on October 25, and Know Your Meme added its entry on October 26. On Google Trends in the US, searches for "jiren dance", "jiren meme" and "im so in love with you meme" were at zero for most of the month, began climbing on October 19 and hit their highest on October 26. Google's autocomplete now suggests "jiren dance meme" and "jiren dancing song".
Where did Jiren Dance ("I'm So In Love With You" Dragon Ball Meme) come from?
The animations come first. TikToker @dblgiuzman posts clips of Dragon Ball characters dancing, tagged #dblegends for the Dragon Ball Legends mobile game. On September 1, 2026, the account posted Jiren dancing with Goku, which now has about 1.4 million plays, and on September 2 a clip of Jiren dancing alone. Those first clips used a different song, Cosculluela's "Prrrum".
Later in September, people began putting the animations over Mthu's song. Know Your Meme names @skobodo_tolot's post of September 17, 2026, as one of the earliest: Gohan dancing with each lyric written over the clip, which has about 720,000 plays. More edits followed through late September and early October.
The wave that made the Jiren dance a mainstream meme started around October 19 and 20, when people started dancing it themselves on camera. Within a week the clips with the song had millions of plays, the calculator version had spread the joke beyond Dragon Ball fans, and the first explainers appeared.
