Rumpelstiltskin Meme (Tip Toein' In My Jordans)
Not a lost 1980s movie. Just an AI imp who will not stop tiptoeing.
Post it today. Everyone gets it, nobody's tired of it.
The Rumpelstiltskin meme is an AI-made clip, styled like a 1980s dark-fantasy film, of a small imp tiptoeing and dancing in a barn, set to Riff Raff's song "Tip Toe Wing In My Jawwdinz". The clip was posted on Instagram in late August 2026, and the Rumpelstiltskin meme took off on TikTok and X from September 29. People caption it with anything sneaky, from a 2 a.m. snack run to a strange dream.
What does Rumpelstiltskin Meme (Tip Toein' In My Jordans) mean?
In the Rumpelstiltskin meme, the tiptoeing stands for sneaking: in, out, or toward something you were told not to do. A caption sets up the situation, and the imp's careful dance acts it out to Riff Raff's song. NBC News collected examples like "creeping downstairs at 2am for a lil treat" and acing a field sobriety test, and the Rumpelstiltskin meme fits any moment where someone is trying hard to look innocent.
It also gets used for weird dreams. The post that made the Rumpelstiltskin meme take off was captioned "The type of dreams I be having after taking dollar store melatonin," and the fake-vintage look suits that half-asleep strangeness.

The Rumpelstiltskin meme is uncanny in a way that keeps people watching. The AI footage looks like a forgotten 1980s fantasy film, the imp is creepy and oddly charming at once, and the rap hook is catchy.
Confusion helped the Rumpelstiltskin meme spread. Many viewers weren't sure whether it came from a real movie, which kept the arguments going. AI video tools also made it easy to put other characters in the imp's place, so the Rumpelstiltskin meme kept producing new versions.
