Kronk and Miss Birdwell's bread-baking dance, redrawn for every fandom alive.
Post it today. Everyone gets it, nobody's tired of it.
The Let's Groove Kronk dance meme is an animation trend where artists redraw a dance scene from Disney's Kronk's New Groove (2005), set to Earth, Wind & Fire's "Let's Groove," with characters from other games and shows. In the film, Kronk and Miss Birdwell dance while their bread bakes. The first known redraw was posted on X in April 2024, and the Kronk dance came back big in late August 2026 on TikTok, Instagram Reels, X and YouTube.
What does Let's Groove Kronk Dance Meme mean?
Posting a Kronk dance edit is a fandom showcase: two characters from one franchise become dance partners in the same disco routine. Often it's an unlikely or shipped pair, like Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman from Marvel Rivals, and the fun is seeing a serious character bust out Kronk's moves. The tone is goofy and wholesome, and the Kronk dance works the same whether the dancers are robots, superheroes or anime girls.
Many posts simply name the pair, such as Glamrock Freddy and Vanessa from Five Nights at Freddy's, and let the Kronk dance carry the joke. Another common Kronk dance use is the crossover: a fan puts two characters from different universes together, like Half-Life's Gordon Freeman dancing with Hatsune Miku.
Why did Let's Groove Kronk Dance Meme take off?
The Kronk dance is an open template. Animators from any fandom can re-skin the same scene, and the disco song and the routine are recognizable whoever is dancing. Each new Kronk dance version invited fans of other games to make their own, and they did: FNAF, Half-Life and Marvel Rivals versions landed within three days.
Familiar parts helped too. The scene comes from a Disney sequel released in 2005, and "Let's Groove" was a top-five hit in 1981, long before the meme.
Where did Let's Groove Kronk Dance Meme come from?
The Kronk dance comes from Kronk's New Groove, Disney's sequel to The Emperor's New Groove, released direct to video on December 13, 2005. Patrick Warburton voices Kronk and Tracey Ullman voices Miss Birdwell. In the scene, the two make raisin bread together and then dance while it bakes, the routine now known as the Kronk dance, to "Let's Groove," the 1981 Earth, Wind & Fire single. The film's soundtrack credits the track to Earth, Wind & Fire and B5.
The first known redraw of the Kronk dance went up on X on April 2, 2024. It starred Father Gregor and Moloch from the indie animated series Spooky Month and drew about 680,000 views, then passed 504,000 more on YouTube. For two years, redraws stayed a niche habit in animator circles.
That changed at the end of August 2026. On August 30, a Five Nights at Freddy's Kronk dance on TikTok passed 700,000 views in five days. Half-Life and Marvel Rivals versions followed on August 31 and September 1. Know Your Meme added the Kronk dance to its weekly roundup on September 4.
